Staff Bios
Carl Nordine, Interim Executive Director
Carl has been with Childrens Safety Centers since October 2007. He has previous experience working in the non-profit field as a business manager for an organization in Fargo, North Dakota. He graduated from Concordia College in 2007 with a BA in Global Studies and has his obtained MBA from Liberty University with an emphasis in leadership.
As Program Manager at CSC, Carl is responsible for the operations of the visitation program and all Minnesota sites, including staff recruitment, management and training. He also works to improve and ensure consistent adherence by site staff and volunteers to CSC policies and procedures.
Becky O’Hara, Director of Development & Community Relations
The Director of Development and Community Relations is responsible for the implementation of all things related to the sustainability of the organization. This includes the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and individual donors, managing government contracts, grant writing, and researching future sources of funding. In addition, the Director of Development and Community Relations is responsible for mission awareness and engagement as well as brand identity and marketing through digital and physical media content, website construction and updates, and crowd sourcing through social media campaigns.
Becky has more than 15 years of development/community relations experience in the non-profit sector. Specifically, she successfully focused on engaging volunteers and major donors while reaching out to her organizations’ respective communities with the awareness of organizational sustainability. Prior to her development experience she held a middle management position with a Fortune 500 International Company. Becky earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development/Family Science from North Dakota State University. Becky joined Children’s Safety Centers in April 2011.
Jayson Cardwell, Finance Manager
At CSC the Finance Manager is responsible for the overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, from financial statement preparation, to accounting and budget tracking.
Jayson has been with CSC since February 2011. He has previous experience working in the non-profit field as a finance manager and accountant. He graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2007 with a BA in Finance.
Erin McLaughlin, Program Coordinator
Erin has been a part of the Childrens Safety Centers for nearly 10 years. She attended University of Minnesota Duluth, and her experience with Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange began with her dedication as a volunteer, then on to Family Visit Monitor, Site Supervisor and Site Security.
Erin has participated in ample Continuing Education Trainings pertinent to the field of Supervised Visitation. Currently performing as Program Coordinator, she works with the Program Manager in staff scheduling, training, weekly office and site reconciliation.
Kelley Hempel, Client Services Coordinator
Kelley has seen first-hand Childrens Safety Centers growth from serving twenty families in its first year of operation. Since 1993, Kelly has worked with over 800 families. She is directly responsible for the scheduling and coordination of the families that use CSC, including case management and preparation of visitation and exchange services to client and referring agencies. Prior to CSC, Kelley worked at Lutheran Social Services, working with abuse victims and their families at Family Violence Network.
Nate Sessions, Program Specialist
Nate has been with Childrens Safety Centers since 2004. He is a seasoned Supervised Visitation provider. A graduate of Hamline University in Psychology and Sociology, Nate has attended over 90 hours of advanced continuing education training pertinent to the field of Supervised Visitation.
In his role as Site Supervisor and Security Officer, Nate is responsible for volunteer recruitment, management and training, and he acts as a liaison between the Client Services Coordinator and the Program Manager.
